“I really do not aim at any originality.”

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Sometimes, I find myself in the mood to write some music. I’ve heard people say this is supposed to be relaxing. If that’s the case, then I’m doing it wrong. I generally like to compose in one go, working continuously until I have something I am satisfied with.

I usually start with some picture in my mind, and try building several melodies until I find something that resembles this picture. If you listen to a track and don’t get such an impression, please feel free to complain in the comments section. I then like to add in additional instruments, particularly the cello, as it’s a great complement to the piano. There isn’t much post-production, I just use a mixer to tweak the relative volumes so your ears aren’t bleeding by the end of the piece. If I’m feeling fancy I might also some panning effects.
